Biography

Maria Russell is a comedy force to be reckoned with.  Her carefree, goofy style makes it difficult for the audience to take their eyes off of her.  A compelling actress and a fierce comedienne, you know Maria from her many memorable roles in episodes of "Outlaw", "Traffic Light", "The Mentalist," "Criminal Minds," "C.S.I.", "The Riches," "Kath and Kim," and "Leverage."

Maria's dramatic chops are equally mesmerizing.  Originally trained in the theater, Maria takes you through a gamut of emotions in a single scene.  Notably, her film work includes the critically acclaimed feature, "A Lousy Ten Grand."

Her background in sketch comedy is vast.  Maria often performed at the LA Improv and is a member of the well known sketch comedy troupe, Six and the City.  She has had the honor to work with some of the comedy greats- Eddie Izzard, Molly Shannon, and Margaret Cho.

Maria is currently in development on her one woman show entitled,  "Ay Maria."  This show is a hysterical and moving satire-drama of her own childhood. Maria is brilliant as she portrays her own mother and a cast of other influential people from her life.  This is a show not to be missed.  After seeing a preview show of "Ay Maria," Joseph Lawry from LA Today magazine said in his review, "You will laugh, you will cry, you will pee in your pants!"
